Oro Loma Open House
Oro Loma Sanitary District hosted an open house in May 2018 to increase customer understanding of its services and its facilities. We assisted Oro Loma with event planning and event marketing as well as customer-engagement activities. This included creating branded event flyers and event signage, adding an event section to the website, implementing social media promotions and email outreach
Oro Loma wanted to use the event to engage with customers and capture data for future marketing. We were able to accomplish both with an interactive photo booth that focused on the services that Oro Loma provides. A photo booth app called Simple Booth was used, with a set up for a green screen. This allowed us to integrate Oro Loma background scenes – such as the wastewater collection facility, the San Francisco Bay and Oro Loma’s horizontal levee project — into the photos. These visuals reinforced Oro Loma services and its commitment to public health and the environment. Additionally, props such as hard hats, lab coats, work crew signs and equipment reinforced the services messaging, and added to the fun.
The event was a resounding success, with a 66 percent increase in attendance compared to similar community events.
