Oro Loma Sanitary District Event Social Media

Placemaking Group worked with the Oro Loma Sanitary District to promote its Horizontal Levee Demonstration event to local constituents through social media, community outreach and PR. The event showcased the district’s groundbreaking efforts to protect the East Bay shoreline against rising seas.  A Facebook event page was at the center of the six-week campaign providing project information and a place for locals to connect about the event and the topic. Facebook ads and promoted posts were used to gain fans and exposure. In the six-week period the Oro Loma Sanitary District’s page gained 923 new fans, produced 36,000 total impresssions and 1,278 instances of engagement (clicks, shares, post likes.)  Grassroots promotion included designing a flyer and postcard for distribution at local businesses.
