How are you doing your personal brand?

“How are you doing your “brand” (including “personal”)?” asks Jonas Skendelis, IT analyst, architect and developer; system integrator, web designer; journalist and Internet editor/publisher.

Jonas, I do a seminar that seems to be very popular these days. It’s called Get Famous. What I talk about is that the better known you are in your industry and your geographic area, the more opportunities present themselves to you. I was taught this be my mentor the great concert producer, Bill Graham.

I’ve included my blog posts about the subject.

One of the most important things to identify in yourself is something that will differentiate you from your colleagues and competitors. You should also be very clear in your mind as to who you are trying to influence. You don’t have enough resources to influence everyone in the world! So, be specific. That’s why you should pick your industry and your geographic area.

I’ve included three blog postings about branding yourself and getting famous. The basic point of those is that getting well known, which means really working on your personal brand, is very important. And not just for Rock Stars. It’s important for everyone of us in business.

The third blog post is about… Get Famous and stay famous using SEO.

One Response to “How are you doing your personal brand?”

I think one of the hardest things a person can do is to brand themselves. It is hard to describe yourself without using generic words such as “nice, friendly, outgoing, patient, reliable” etc. One point that you touched on above that stands out the most to me is to find out how you can differentiate yourself from others and finding exactly who you are trying to influence.
