We are all waiting for the business upturn. The Sticking Point Solution by Jay Abraham is a book that gives you lots of ideas on how to get back into marketing for the upturn, even if you have to start your own up-turn! This starts off with a section that is inspirational. He wants us all to realize that if things are going to start happening, then we have to make them happen.
What Abraham does is go through all the strategies and very specific action items across a broad spectrum of marketing and communications ideas. If you’re looking for a book that gives you lots of ideas and then answers the question of “what do I do next,” The Sticking Point Solution is your book.
My copy now has so many bookmarks pointing to places I want to read again. There are specific ideas of how to build a strategy for growth, how to do consultative sales and even how to improve cash flow. He clearly explains how to take care of clients. But he stresses having an overall plan. That’s something I agree with on every level.
Abraham says that there are 9 ways to move your business forward. The nice thing is that at the end of each chapter he gives a list of bullet point reminders and an immediate action step. That really is the good thing about this book. He starts off at a high strategic level, gives an excellent example of a company he worked with, then not only does he give you a list of things to do but he makes sure you realize the first thing you should do.
In his chapter about sales and marketing, he takes you through identifying how to sell to new clients– including key points on how to “Change Your Message: Make Whatever You Offer Irresistible,” how to do consultative sales, and how to advertise what you are selling. Then he even gives you “Ten Terrific Advertising Headlines That Delivered Great Business Results.” That’s just in the Selling Chapter!
This is a book that could very well help to Unstick you! At this stage in the economic recovery, I think we can all use a dose of this type of thinking. Ok, now go buy The Sticking Point, 9 Ways to Move Your Business from Stagnation to Stunning Growth In Tough Economic Times by Jay Abraham.

Dennis, another good one is “Made to Stick”. I’ll pick this one up.
Business is on fire over here pal. If you are interested in helping, would love to talk. Last time you didn’t seem to have much time. Aaron
