Elegant and Simple/the Human Element both conveyed with Flash!

Placemaking Group recently launched two new Web sites: one for the Bay Area’s fabulous catering and event design company, Events, Etc…, and the second for the nationally known law firm of SCA Law.

These sites are so right on the money when it comes to conveying the brand of our clients I just feel compelled to share it with you. On both sites we added Flash moving pictures.

ELEGANT AND SIMPLE — Events, Etc…Events

I met Bobbie Fakkema at a recent Alliance of Chief Executives meeting. She is the owner of Events, Etc… and the tremendous talent behind the work that has created such a loyal following for the company. She was one of the most charming and gracious people I’ve met recently. We started talking about what she was looking for in a Web site, the image she wanted to convey: simplicity, sophistication, a “reveal” of what she offers to her clientele. A site that tantalized rather than told the whole Event, Etc. story at once. We created a gorgeous site that is image intensive, with few words to truly showcase Bobbie’s artful and delicious menu selections and her staff’s consummate creativity in event design. The site’s movement — created with subtle Flash programming — draws in the visitor. Navigation is simple. And according to Bobbie, who is quite pleased with the final product, the site is drawing in new clients on a regular basis.

SCA LawCORPORATE, WITH A HUMAN ELEMENT — SCA Law Associates.

With this site, we again used Flash but in a very different way, to quickly convey SCA Law’s specific area of legal expertise — labor and employment law — to potential clients. We created landing pages to hone in on SCA Law’s practice areas, one by one. We also handled the intricacies of programming the site to tie it into an existing admin panel and content management system. The end result is a Web site that is impactful, simple to navigate and easily updated.
